Hydrogen Office meets the public

23rd January 2007

The public were given a glimpse of the future yesterday at an open day at the pioneering Hydrogen Office.

Whilst still in the planning stages, the £2.77 million centre will become a world-class facility for research, development and education in renewable energy, and the role of hydrogen technology in particular.

Leading industrialists, government officials, sponsors and members of the public attended the event, and over 100 schoolchildren participated in the exciting “hydrogen show” (by siGEN’s MD Dave McGrath), which explained the benefits, opportunities and safety issues relating to hydrogen.

Later, a well-attended Public Meeting featured presentations by guest speakers, and discussions on the Energy Centre and proposed wind turbine.
