Hydrogen Office Submits Planning Application

17th August 2007

Plans for the innovative Energy Research Centre have been submitted to Fife Council.

If successful, the Energy Research Centre - located next to the Hydrogen Office - will house the hi-tech hydrogen energy equipment to convert water into hydrogen, which could then be used with a fuel cell to provide energy for the Hydrogen Office. In addition, it will house a lab for companies to test their fuel cell products before going on to the market.

Willie Johnston, director of strategic projects at Scottish Enterprise Fife, said: “The Energy Centre is one of a number of potential projects earmarked for the emerging energy hub at Methil and we are confident that, if given the green light, the project will deliver significant economic benefits not only for Fife, but for Scotland as a whole.”
